How to fix Blacklist

title: How to Fix Blacklist
description: What to do when your domain or IP is blacklisted.

Overview

If your domain or IP address has been blacklisted, the reality is that fixing it is almost impossible — and even when possible, it is almost never worth the time or effort.

What You Should Do

Get a new burner domain and move on.

Blacklists are designed to flag domains and IPs that show spam-like behavior. Once flagged, your domain's reputation is permanently damaged in the eyes of many email providers.

Why Fixing a Blacklist Is Not Worth It

  • Some blacklists never remove listings for cold email domains, no matter what you do
  • Even if one blacklist removes you, others may still have you flagged
  • Email service providers cache reputation data independently. Outlook, Gmail, and other major ESPs maintain their own internal reputation systems. Even if you are officially removed from a blacklist, there is no guarantee these providers will immediately — or ever — restore trust in your domain
  • The process can take weeks or months with no guarantee of success
  • Your time is better spent setting up a fresh, properly warmed-up domain than fighting a damaged one

How to Verify If You Are Blacklisted

Run a Domain Setup Report inside SalesBlink. It scans over 70 major spam databases and will show if your domain or IP has been flagged.

Steps After Replacing a Blacklisted Domain

  1. Purchase a new burner domain (or buy one directly through SalesBlink)
  2. Set up new mailboxes with proper SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records
  3. Enable Email WarmUp and wait at least 15–30 days before sending cold emails
  4. Follow Best Practices for Cold Email to protect your new domain's reputation

Tip: Prevention is the only real cure. Follow deliverability best practices from day one to avoid getting blacklisted in the first place.
